New Zealand beat South Africa by 49 runs

DHAKA: New Zealand defeated South Africa by 49 runs with 6.4 overs here at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium on Friday and entered the ICC World Cup semifinals on Friday.

Chasing a not so difficult target of 222, South Africa were all out for 172 runs in 43.2 overs.

Smith, Kallis, AB de Villiers and Plessis scored 28, 47, 35 and 36 runs respectively but these big names once again failed to propel their team to the victory in the crucial quarter final match.
