F-35 Fighter Jet Crashes at California Naval Base; Pilot Safe

An F-35C fighter jet crashed during a training flight near Naval Air Station (NAS) Lemoore in central California on Wednesday afternoon. The U.S. Navy confirmed the incident and reported that no injuries occurred.

The crash took place around 4:30 PM local time. The aircraft, belonging to the VFA-125 "Rough Raiders" squadron, went down not far from the airbase. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

According to an official statement from NAS Lemoore, the pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft and was not injured. “The pilot successfully ejected and is safe. There are no additional-affected personnel,” the statement read.

Authorities have not released further details, and officials are continuing to assess the situation as part of the ongoing investigation.
